Tucker Max is an American 🏷️#author and 🏷️#speaker who rose to early-2000s internet infamy chronicling his drunken exploits and sexual encounters as short stories on TuckerMax.com, launched in 2000 as the result of a bet, and who pivoted in the 2010s from memoir provocation to running Scribe Media, the book-publishing services company he co-founded for nonfiction authors.
His book 📝I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell appeared on The New York Times bestseller list every year from 2006 through 2012, sold over a million copies worldwide (including 400,000 in 2009 alone), and was adapted into a 2009 feature film of the same name. Max co-founded Scribe Media (originally Book in a Box) in 2014 to convert busy executives and operators into authors through a structured interview-to-manuscript process; Scribe became one of the more prominent independent professional-publishing companies before its own commercial difficulties and 2023 acquisition. His own writing in the latter period shifted markedly toward more reflective and parenting-focused material.
