Mythos

Harry's is an American direct-to-consumer men's grooming brand founded in 2013 by Andy Katz-Mayfield and Jeff Raider, best known for shaving razors and grooming products sold through a vertically integrated supply chain — including the German razor-blade factory Feintechnik, which the company acquired in early 2014 within months of launch.

Harry's launched with a viral pre-launch referral campaign that gathered roughly 100,000 email signups in its first week, a structure built around tiered rewards for referring friends; the founders later open-sourced parts of the email-collection mechanism and walked through the playbook on 📝Tim Ferriss's blog, where it became one of the most-cited reference designs in pre-launch viral commerce. The parent company has since expanded into adjacent personal-care brands including Flamingo (women's body care), Cat Person (pets), and Headquarters (hair care), positioning itself as a multi-brand CPG operator rather than a single-product razor business. An attempted 2019 acquisition by Edgewell Personal Care for $1.37 billion was blocked by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in 2020 on antitrust grounds; Harry's has remained independent and private since.
