Objective
Jacob Collier is a London-born #musician, #producer, #singer, #songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist recognized as one of the most innovative figures of his generation. Jacob Collier rose to prominence in 2013 through multi-instrumental YouTube covers that attracted praise from Quincy Jones and Herbie Hancock, leading to a self-produced debut album, In My Room (2016). His ambitious four-part Djesse project has featured more than 150 collaborators across genres, including the Metropole Orkest, Alicia Keys, and Stormzy. Collier is widely celebrated for his inventive harmonies, use of microtones, and ability to engage audiences through participatory live performances, often directing crowds as choirs. He attended the Purcell School for Young Musicians and briefly studied at the Royal Academy of Music, with his early upbringing in a musical family shaping his distinctive approach. He is the first British artist to win a Grammy Award for each of his first five consecutive albums, receiving recognition for arrangements of works such as “Moon River.” Critics and peers describe him as a “musician’s musician,” with lasting influence on performance, collaboration, and music education.
