After consulting a number of resources and playing with the ideas from The Ascent of Humanity Brian Swichkow asked me to set up the legal framework, entity formation and registration to set up the cooperative and the virtual currency for One Inc. This document will serve as the central place to participate in the set up by commenting in the document or in the #One-Inc channel in the Citizens of One Slack Community.

Background

The mental model, framework or thought process guiding me is experience from being the CFO of Second Life soon after the LindeX launched. The Residents of Second Life created and sold things to each other using a virtual currency. That part is simple. ;)

The process that created Second Life is a narrative in the form of: In 1999 a [silicon valley startup] founded by [an entrepreneur who sold his previous company] to [a great company you’ve heard of] raised money by selling [preferred stock at increasing valuations]. The “Silicon Valley Startup Governance System” has grown up a lot since then - Linden Lab had only raised about $30 million before it became profitable - this was a unicorn before the term, and companies like Twitter Facebook, Instagram had launched. Reddit and Wikipedia were in their infancy. Time passes. Incubators and accelerators have launched in every major city. The institutionalization of the process has empowered angels all over the world to bring capital to great people with great ideas. This is the system that is . We expect it will keep working. At another level, private equity firms, as currently understood, pick up mostly where venture investors were unable to see - were unconscious of - opportunity. .At the same time...
